Peralta trail to Lone Tree lookout
The main part of this trail is very popular, the Peralta trail, but once we reach Freemont saddle, that’s where people will stop and get their pics with the background. This is a very photogenic trail all around, especially coming down at sunset. This trail is a gradual hike up through Peralta Canyon, and while it's not too bad compared to some, there are some boulders here and there you may need to get over, but nothing too major. But once up to Fremont saddle when Weaver's needle first comes into view, it makes the hike up worth it. From here you can grab some pictures, then we’ll check out the area, take a snack break, then head back down.
This trailhead starts at the Peralta Trailhead at the end of Peralta road in Gold Canyon. Take 60 east through Gold Canyon, pass Kings ranch road, then take a left at the next light, Peralta Road. Peralta trailhead is the last parking lot at the end. This does start off as a paved road but turns to dirt for 5-6 miles. Last few times I went it was pretty smooth, but after hard rains it can alter it some.
If you have your own gear you’ll just have to pay for the hike. If you need gear, you’ll have to purchase a hike and pay for the rental & deposit.
