Weavers needle loop
I’ve done this full loop 3 times and it’s a very viewtiful trail with multiple angles of Weavers needle along a good portion of the trail. In my opinion, going counter clockwise seems to hit more steep inclines but gives more view time of Weavers needle, compared to your back to it going clockwise yet getting the better view coming over Freemont saddle. The ground is quite rocky for a large portion of the trail, and there are trails that branch off from the loop, one that branches off goes past Battleship mountain, through Boulder Canyon and out by Canyon lake.
This trailhead starts at the Peralta Trailhead at the end of Peralta road in Gold Canyon. Take 60 east through Gold Canyon, pass Kings ranch road, then take a left at the next light, Peralta Road. Peralta trailhead is the last parking lot at the end. This does start off as a paved road but turns to dirt for 5-6 miles. Last few times I went it was pretty smooth, but after hard rains it can alter it some. Meet at 6:30 am as the lot fills up quick when it cools down.
